BioPlus Turns Static Training into Interactive Sales Learning

After BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy was acquired by Elevance Health, the team faced major operational change, including system migrations, new infrastructure, and a growing distributed workforce. With iorad, BioPlus replaced static training materials with interactive tutorials that made onboarding more consistent, scalable, and easier for sales teams to revisit on demand.

The Challenge: Training through major operational change

BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy became part of Elevance Health, creating a major transition for the organization. Teams had to adapt to new systems, new workflows, and a broader healthcare infrastructure while still maintaining continuity across daily operations.

At the center of this transition was Steffini Matthews, Director of Sales Operations. With nearly 15 years at BioPlus, she had seen the company grow from an agile, independent organization into part of one of the largest health networks in the United States.

Before iorad, BioPlus relied heavily on Word documents, PowerPoints, and screenshots for training. Those materials were static, difficult to maintain, and quick to become outdated whenever systems or processes changed.

“We were using Word docs and PowerPoints with screenshots. Everything was static and quickly outdated.”

The team also faced access limitations. Following the acquisition, BioPlus transitioned to new electronic medical record platforms that were not browser-based. Because of IT restrictions, many employees could not access certain core systems, making it difficult to create or deliver realistic workflow training using traditional tools.

As the organization expanded, one-on-one training also became harder to sustain. BioPlus needed to support more than 150 people across inside sales, outside sales, and support roles. With remote work and a larger distributed team, training needed to become more scalable, consistent, and accessible.

The Shift: Replacing static documentation with interactive tutorials

BioPlus adopted iorad to bring more consistency and interactivity into its training workflows.

With iorad, the team converted manual guides and static documentation into step-by-step simulations that helped learners practice workflows instead of only reading about them. These tutorials mimicked real actions in Salesforce and other web-based platforms, helping new hires build muscle memory and understand processes more clearly.

“We totally revamped our training. Now, we say: here’s your module, go through it, and come back with questions if needed.”

Instead of relying on repeated one-on-one walkthroughs, BioPlus could assign interactive modules that learners completed on their own time. This gave new hires a more structured training path while freeing managers and trainers from repeating the same explanations over and over.

iorad also gave the team multiple output options. Tutorials could be shared as simulations, PDFs, videos, or scrollable step lists, making it easier to support different learning preferences.

The Outcome: More consistent onboarding across a distributed sales team

With iorad, BioPlus streamlined the way it trained new hires and supported existing team members.

Tutorials embedded inside TalentLMS gave every sales rep the same baseline training, whether they were remote or onsite. That helped reduce knowledge gaps and create a more unified sales process across regions, time zones, and roles.

The ability to revisit tutorials also gave learners more independence. Team members could refresh their knowledge whenever they needed help instead of waiting for a manager, trainer, or peer to walk them through a process again.

“It’s helpful because it simulates what you’d be doing. It’s more memorable than scrolling a seven-page document.”

This shift made training more practical and easier to retain. Learners were not just reading long documents or reviewing screenshots; they were actively moving through the steps in a way that felt closer to the real workflow.

Why it worked: Simulation-based learning without overloading trainers

iorad worked for BioPlus because it gave the team a scalable way to train people through change.

Interactive tutorials replaced static screenshots and live shadowing with a more repeatable training experience. Sales reps could learn by doing, revisit content when needed, and build confidence without relying on one-on-one coaching for every workflow.

Embedding tutorials in TalentLMS also centralized access. Training became easier to find, easier to assign, and easier to standardize across roles.

In a regulated healthcare environment, this consistency mattered. BioPlus could provide standardized, audit-friendly training without requiring every learner to access restricted systems or sandbox environments.

Looking ahead: Training that stays useful through system changes

As BioPlus continued navigating post-acquisition system changes, iorad helped the team preserve and reuse valuable training content.

Even as corporate training shifted toward Workday, existing iorad modules remained accessible and useful. The platform’s lightweight embedding options allowed BioPlus to keep control of its learning content across LMS changes and system migrations.

For BioPlus, iorad became more than a way to create tutorials. It became a scalable training layer that helped the team support growth, maintain consistency, and make knowledge easier to access during a period of major organizational change.
